Swiss-Belhotel Hualun, Hefei Selects Softbrands Medallion as Its Property Management System for China Operations
MINNEAPOLIS -- SoftBrands, Inc., has sold its first Medallion property management system in China to Swiss-Belhotel Hualun, Hefei. SoftBrands announced Medallion's availability for the China hotel industry in April 2005. Medallion's double-byte and multi-language capability makes it particularly well suited for properties servicing the fast growing, international tourism market in China.
Swiss-Belhotel Hualun, Hefei, a new 165-room, 4-star hotel in the city center of the Hefei city, is owned by the renowned Xia Hua Book Store Group in Anhui Province and managed by Swiss-Belhotel International. The tentative opening date for the hotel is July 1, 2005. Swiss-Belhotel International is a Hong Kong-based hotel management group with approximately 26 hotels worldwide, including six hotels in China.
"I recommended Medallion be selected based on SoftBrands' strong global presence and because we required a feature-rich, easy-to-use property management system at an affordable cost," said Michael Bischof, Swiss-Belhotel Hualun, Hefei director of operations and development in China. "SoftBrands' long history of professional service and quality products makes us confident that this will be a successful venture for our hotel."
There are three additional SwissBel hotels in China that are currently selecting property management systems.
"We are honored that Medallion has been selected as the property management system for Swiss-Belhotel Hualun and see this partnership as the beginning of a solid, lasting presence in China's hospitality industry," said Steve VanTassel, SoftBrands senior vice president and general manager.
