CommercialWare Leaps to #11 in 2005 RIS Leaderboard

CommercialWare, Inc. (www.commercialware.com), the leading provider of cross-channel commerce infrastructure solutions for retailers, was named #11 in the sixth annual RIS Leaderboard survey of the best retail software vendors.

Driven by Top 10 rankings in 11 of the 12 categories that make up the annual survey, CommercialWare earned its ranking based upon customer evaluations of performance in key retail categories. In those areas, CommercialWare placed second in Overall Performance, Strategic Value, Ease of Upgrading, and Administration and Maintenance.

The RIS Leaderboard, which has become “more of an exclusive club” after an active year of mergers and acquisitions, is a who’s who of the retail software industry, from niche players to some of the largest software companies in the world.

“The multi-year rise of CommercialWare in the Leaderboard speaks volumes about how well the company is meeting its customer’s expectations through delivery of products and services,” said Joe Skorupa, Group Editor-in-Chief of RIS News (www.risnews.com). “Customer satisfaction is at the heart of Leaderboard rankings and companies that are at the top of the list are clearly leaders in meeting retailer needs.”

In Overall Performance, which the RIS Leaderboard describes as a measure of “how well a vendor has delivered a useful functionality,” CommercialWare rated #2. CommercialWare grabbed the same potion in Strategic Value, the ability to “deliver a solution that performed well relative to its cost.”

“Such strong recognition from our customers and the marketplace validates our commitment and ability to deliver the products and services cross-channel retailers require every day,” said Donny Askin, founder and CEO of CommercialWare. “We are thrilled with inclusion in so many Top 10 ratings as it demonstrates our end-to-end commitment to help our customers realize the value of cross-channel retailing.”

In each of the categories, CommercialWare’s rating among the 45 companies was: -0- *T #2 in Ease of Upgrading, #2 in Administration and Maintenance, #5 in Return on Investment, #7 in Retail Concentration, #7 in Customer Satisfaction and Recognition, #7 in Quality of Service, #7 in Ease of Installation, #8 in Total Cost of Ownership, and #10 in Ease of Integration. *T

The rise to #11 is the third consecutive year that CommercialWare has improved its standing in the RIS Leaderboard. Last year, CommercialWare was #16, up 25 places from its debut in 2003 at #41.

To create this year’s survey results, more than 200 retailers submitted in excess of 500 vendor reviews with over 90 vendors involved in the research process.
